NEWSEA NHL

Yesterday, EA Sports released a first look at the Utah Mammoth in NHL 26. Starting their inaugural 2024-2025 season as the Utah Hockey Club, the team was featured in NHL 25. In their first season on the ice, Utah finished sixth in the Central Division and seven points short of a Stanley Cup Playoff spot. As their second season rebrands the team as the Mammoth, we now get to see how the new name looks in-game.

🎮 What Does This Mean for the Franchise Faithful?
Playing with an expansion team is always an exciting challenge in franchise mode. Expansion teams are usually required to draft from a pool of unprotected players from rosters throughout the league, which automatically means they lack star power when their first season kicks off. The Utah Mammoth's story is different, as they acquired the Arizona Coyotes organization, which included absorbing their staff and roster. The Coyotes were a struggling bunch coming off four straight years with no Stanley Cup Playoff appearances. Anyone looking for a challenge with franchise building has their work cut out for them using the Mammoth, and expansion teams are one of the many reasons we love franchise mode.
